Performing Group Auditions
The Paul Klocke Studio of Dance is excited to offer a Performing Group for our students who love to be in front of an audience. This group participates in additional performing opportunities through competitions, conventions, and other events and is primarily for those students who want to focus on dance as an activity and who wish to take their performance of dance to a much higher level. Members of this group tend to blossom not only in their dance abilities but also in self-confidence.
Our Performing Group is available to students who have completed our current Child 2 ballet and jazz levels and above, or the equivalent.
Auditions for the Performing Group are held in the spring. Rehearsals for competition routines begin when classes start in early September. There may be events in November and/or December, and the group usually attends competitions and conventions from January through the spring.
If you missed our auditions and are interested in joining Performing Group, please let us know of your interest as soon as possible.
- During summer and as classes begin in the fall, please call the studio to discuss your options if you are interested in joining this year's group.
- If it is too late to join this year, we may still be able to focus on planning your training and choosing your classes with next year's Performing Group auditions in mind.
- If you are planning on auditioning for next year, please let us know as early as possible, so that we can plan your training and choose your classes accordingly.
Requirements (in brief):
- Students must take, in addition to their Performing Group class, at least one ballet and one jazz class per week. In addition, depending on the options you choose, you may also be required to take a lyrical or contemporary modern class.
- Students must be committed to attending their classes, as excess absences cause problems for their group.
- Students must be available to perform on specific dates, including mandatory competitions. The dates will be announced before you commit.
- Students must be able to handle being corrected and evaluated.
- There are financial obligations involved, including competition fees and other expenses.
- See the Performing Group main page, or call the studio, for more information.
